About Cathrine

I’m Cathrine, a film wedding photographer with a heart for documenting the human connection. My personality is best described as southern sweet melded with bold soul which helps my clients feel relaxed and confident while I photograph them. For the past 10 years, I’ve honed in on the art of photography by getting a degree in photography and by shooting hundreds of weddings. From a young age, I worked in several of my family members shops and restaurants where I learned the art of customer service and client confidence - both important facets that I always strive to deliver.

My shooting style is documentary driven with a passion for emotional connection. My main goal for my bride and groom is that they get to fully experience each other and their wedding day all while providing beautifully curated images that tell the true story of their day.

When I’m not behind the camera, you can find me in Birmingham, Alabama. I love listening to old records while cooking, attending art shows and concerts,  eating my way though Birmingham’s best cuisines and napping with my dog Huck Finn. I love being surrounded by my closest friends and family and encouraging them to fully experience life and live it to the fullest.

MY manifesto

When I look back into my past, I have a hard time recalling memories that weren't documented by my family or friends. Family photos and handmade scrapbooks are some of my most prized possessions because they help me remember the moments that so easily slip my mind. My favorite photos of my past are the ones that were taken on instant film cameras or cheap disposable cameras. The photos aren't perfect—they have a soul to them. The movement, grain, bold colors and flash stimulate my senses and help place me back into the moment when the photo was snapped.

This is what I want for you. I want for you to look at the images of you and your loved ones and be flooded with the emotion you felt on the day the photographs were taken. I want you to remember with all of your senses how uniquely beautiful your life is and what it felt to love and be loved in that moment.
